Morse code, Farnsworth to true timing

I've been learning code for almost as long as I've had my license. I finally have the 26 letters of the alphabet down at a farnsworth speed of 15/5. I just tried to listen to a groupings of 5 letters at a true speed of 10wpm. Only got the first 1 or 2 of each. The program I used does not go down to 5wpm.

After listing to the characters at 15 wpm speed, listening to them at 10wpm just sounds different. As I try to hear the letter as a sound, 10wpm is like hearing a heavy southern accent for the first time. It takes time for the ears to hear something.

Farnsworth to true timing, is it considered another wall to break through? I guess so.

I guess I will start spending part of my practice time listening to true timing letter groupings.

I still have the numbers and some basic punctuation to learn.

At the rate I am going I am not sure if I will be at 15wpm by field day. 14 more characters, a few prosigns and moving from 5wpm to 15wpm. And no, I do screwup and not spend the 15 or so minutes every day. My bad, I understand that all too well.

But I'll just keep marching forward at the speed I can. I'll get there some day.
